You Can Be Natural Right From Home

Our food, our environment, and our habits make up the top three reasons what will make us or break us when it comes to our health. There are so may ways we make ourselves sick. However it appears that slowly but surely our society is waking up to the dangers of toxic chemicals in our home, our food, and even in some of the things we take part in out of habit.

A more natural way of life is a smart way to go for a number of reasons:

  • Prolongs life
  • Helps the planet
  • Safer homes
  • Healthier children
  • Less disease
  • Saves animals from distinction

No matter what the reason is for going natural, it is a smart one. Many manufacturers have joined the bandwagon by creating products that are safer for the environment and in recent years more statistics have come forward about the many benefits of items like coconut oil and different herbs.

The funny thing is that natural living was a once practiced widely because all the other stuff was not around. Somehow we stepped away from that practice and as is the norm, man just got all in way creating products for convenience sake. We have found in the last few years that much of what was created to make living easier for man actually made living worse with the number of diseases and we began to die earlier.

Here are a few statistics to chew on:

In the past 50 years more than 75,000 chemicals have been introduced into the environment. Today 300 synthetic chemicals are found in the bodies of humans. Even newborn babies have synthetic chemicals passed on from their mothers. (REACH:Registration, Evaluation, andAuthorization of Chemicals, a European Union program)

A 2004 survey of 2,300 consumers found that on average, people use nine different personal care products a day, introducing 126 different chemicals onto their body. (Campaign For Safe Cosmetics)

Of chemicals commonly found in homes, 150 have been linked to allergies, birth defects, cancer and psychological abnormalities. (Consumer Product Safety Commission)

“Toxins in U.S. homes now account for 90 percent of all reported poisonings each year” (Rose Ann Soloway, administrator of the American Association of Poison Control Center)
