Shop your way green

It's summer time here in Texas and its HOT. We need to keep those Air Conditioners going almost constantly. There are ways to keep it running more efficiently and that is what being green is all about! Change that filter at least once a month. You can get the type of filter that you just wash out and place back. You can use vinegar to ensure you get it nice and clean. If you use a disposable, ensure you are using one that is environmentally friendly. Read the packaging. Look at that thermostat. Do you really need it at 68'? Take it up a degree or maybe 2 and see if anyone really notices. I've actually got mine set at 73' and as of yet no one has said a thing! Use ceiling fans. Remember that in the winter they can circulate warm air, but in the summer they can be turned in the opposite direction to circulate cool air.
