The Natural Way

Spring, summer and the holidays have come and gone. We are smack in the middle of January. As I sit and type this posting, I can look out the window and see the snow coming down. A neighbor tells me it is “like oatmeal to shovel.” I am looking forward to that.

Through all these past months I have really struggled with the direction that I want to take this site. It is near and dear to my heart, but it seems to just hang out and not have a direction.

This morning I was thinking about one of the other things that I struggle. We really want to go organic in this house. (You all hear my Dad calling me a tree hugger, right?)

What is the one of the things that hold you and your family back from going Organic?

As soon as I tell someone that I am going organic, they always ask me, “Isn’t that expensive?”

Well it can be. But the alternatives are much worse.

So what does this all have to do with this site and the direction?

Simple, I want you to join me on the journey to going organic and natural. Let’s see if we can do it without going broke. Let’s see if we can do it and gain back our health and our healthy outlook on life.

What do you think? Are you up for the challenge? Can going organic and natural fit in your budget? I am making a bet that it can!

So join me! Sign up for the list. I have several wonderful ideas for a monthly newsletter.

  1. Hi Judi. Love the site. I’ve been reading about organic/natural health for a few years now (I actually want to become a natural health counselor someday too) and it’s been a challenge to make it a full lifestyle.

My husband and I try to buy/eat as much organic as we can afford. If we have to eat out less to spend more on organic groceries, we do. The main thing that hold us from going organic all the way is availability of produce. Our local supermarkets don’t offer as much as our past (before we moved from WV to CA) supermarket, so our options are very few.

Our local Farmer’s markets don’t offer a whole lot during winter, they actually only run til October.

Another goal I’m trying to make is making sure to buy more local, rather than organic produce from across the state or even country.

Thanks for the great articles. I’m making that pizza tonight ;)

  2. I have become more organic orientated since I was diagnosed with an underactive thyroid disorder and I am sure the benefit of doing so has helped me manage the condition.

  3. Yes absolutely go organic. I write about skin care and know that there are so many nasty chemical ingredients in skin care products and other personal products like soaps, shampoos and deodorants and more. Organic is always best for any of these, and more.

  5. Some specialists say that home loans help a lot of people to live their own way, because they can feel free to buy needed stuff. Furthermore, various banks offer commercial loan for all people.
