Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent

I have just recently started using Seventh Generation laundry detergent.  And let me qualify this before I even start. I am very picky about my laundry. My son works at McDonalds. I hate the smell of his clothes. I have a daughter with allergies and I want the least amount of “additives” as possible.  I have a HE steam washer that uses less water and electric than the average washer. All this adds up to a person who is very particular.

I purchased my Seventh Generation laundry detergent at Target. It was a bit more expensive than what I usually buy. But then I noted that for 12.99 it did 100 loads of laundry. That is about 13 cents a load.

The scent is Water Blossom, exclusive for Target. The drawing point there? Well the scent is 100% from essential oils and botanicals. Ok I am starting to be sold.

It is non-toxic and biodegradable. Yeah! It is low foaming. That means that the soap actually comes out of your clothes. With most laundry detergent you would be amazed at the amount of cleanser left in your clothes. It is also hypoallergenic.

So in the cart it went. The real test would be when the McDonalds uniform went in the wash. Best not come out with one whiff of french fries or cooking oil.

I love the scent of it. The amount that is needed to clean a load of laundry is miniscule. And yes that modest bit got all of that nasty smell out of his uniform!

So I am sold. While on Facebook I also noted that if you go to their website and join their Seventh Generation Nation you can print out coupons that will save you money as well. http://www.seventhgeneration.com/coupons
If you try Seventh Generation Laundry Detergent, be sure to stop by and let me know what you think!

  5. Wow, this really brought back memories for me because I also used to work at McD’s and everyone 10 feet from me hated the smell. It’s that french fry grease….next time you eat those things you may think they’re soo good but I have to tell you that we used that oil for a such long time before changing it that the bottom of the fryer was like street tar. I haven’t eaten at McD’s in over 20 years.
