This sounds like advice your mom would have given you doesn’t it?

It is true though. We are only as beautiful on the outside as we are on the inside. If we are healthy it shows on our faces, in our skin and other tell tale signs.

There are many ways you can get this inner beauty. Don’t sweat it, this is the easy stuff, promise! Here are 3 easy changes you can make today.

#1 – drink more water. Most people suffer from dehydration. Your skin suffers the worst. Dry, itchy skin is not attractive. Simple solution is to drink more water. Notice I didn’t say soda or coffee, but WATER. Water in it’s purest form is what you body needs.

#2 – take those extra steps. Instead of taking the elevator, take the stairs. Take those few moments and get exercise. You don’t have to go to the gym and get a workout, though that is an excellent idea. Just take the time to add more to your routine. Get up and move around.

#3 – get to sleep. Many people are so stressed and work centered that they never manage to get a good night sleep. Learn to tune out and get your 8 hours. Soothing music, an eye mask to block out the light, do what it takes to get yourself a good nights sleep.

See? I told you these were no brainers. They are something that everyone can do. When we treat our body better, it will treat us better. The healthier we are on the inside the more beautiful we are on the outside!

Lately we have been trying different all natural toothpaste. Not as easy as it sounds. There are several on the market. We are even trying our own. Get the latest on this subject!

Everyone wants a bright, beautiful smile right? It is no wonder that toothpastes, toothbrushes, mouth rinses, and flavored dental floss have become a multi-million dollar industry. There are dental care products for designed specifically for children, seniors, and those who have dental health problems. There are toothpastes that are supposed to help soothe gums, whiten teeth, eliminate bad breath, and lessen cold and heat sensitivities. There is usually an entire isle devoted to dental products in the most grocery or drug stores. But does there popularity and accessibility make them the best choice?

A large portion of dental products contain fluoride. Basically fluoride is a mineral that is added to dental products to help prevent tooth decay. This action is based upon observances made in the early 1900s. Residents of the southwestern states were consuming high levels of fluoride in their water supply and despite the fact that the fluoride caused them to have stained yellow and brown teeth; they had an unusually low level of tooth decay. This lead many to believe that fluoride was responsible for preventing decay, despite the fact that other possible factors were not evaluated.

The problem with this assumption and practice is that many modern day scientists and doctors believe that fluoride is meant to be topical only and is not healthy for us to ingest. As fluoride is already in our water, our cumulative exposure can be too great. If too much fluoride is consumed then fluorosis can occur. Dental fluorosis weakens the enamel of the teeth, makes them susceptible to stains and gives them a pitted appearance. Skeletal fluorosis weakens the bones and causes calcification of the ligaments. It is no wonder that and more and more natural health enthusiasts are choosing fluoride free dental products.

Another concern is the presence of Sodium Lauryl Sulfate or SLS in toothpaste and mouth wash. SLS is what gives toothpaste its foaming ability and give the feeling of a nice cleaning but there is nothing nice about putting this chemical in your mouth. SLS has been known to be the cause of mouth ulcers and sores and in fact this occurrence is so common among immune suppressed people that cancer patients are urged not to use toothpaste with SLS. Research has also indicated that SLS may be damaging to the immune system as well.

To avoid excess fluoride and Sodium Lauryl Sulfate you may want to try more natural dental products. Many health food stores are now carrying a variety of fluoride free and SLS free toothpastes and mouthwashes. It is also extremely easy to make your own dental care products right in your own home from natural household ingredients. Here are a few natural dental recipes:

All Natural Toothpaste

3 tablespoons baking soda (the cleaner)

1 tablespoon salt (the abrasive)

1-2 drops stevia (the sweetener)

1 drop peppermint oil (optional)

Mix all of the dry ingredients in a bowl. Add water until the paste is desired the consistency. Store the mixture at room temperature in a tightly covered jar.

You can also buy toothbrushes made with natural handles and bristles if you want to go completely natural. Here is to your beautiful and natural smile!

There are thousands of products and treatments available to help improve the quality of your skin, but only a small percentage of these are natural. Most beauty products contain harsh, damaging chemicals. Treatments, like chemical peels and botox, can be scary. On top of it all, we really have no idea what most of these treatments and chemicals will do to our skin 20 years down the road. If you want to have great looking skin without dangerous chemicals or procedures, there is a way.

Here are some great tips to keep your skin looking fabulous the natural way:

Drink more water. All cells need water to function properly. If your skin cells aren?t properly hydrated, waste products build up in your cells and keep them from working right and looking their best. Also, if you don?t drink enough water, your cells will retain as much as they can and you?ll end up looking puffy and bloated.

Change your diet. You?ve probably heard the phrase ?you are what you eat? a lot. If you think about it, this old saying is 100 percent true. Your body is made up of what you put into it. If you want it to work properly and look its best, you need to feed yourself the nutrients it needs and avoid foods that may damage it. For beautiful skin, you should try to get more fiber and ?good fats? in your diet and avoid foods with a lot of sugar. In other words leave the Twinkies alone.

Improve your circulation. To function properly, our cells need to get plenty of oxygen. If you spend your days sitting at a desk or remaining mostly immobile, your circulation probably isn?t as good as it could be. Increase your circulation by getting more exercise, stretching, or getting regular massages (they don?t need to be professional). You can also use a brush to exfoliate your skin which improves circulation while removing old, dead cells. Not only will this give your skin a better overall look, it can also reduce the appearance of unsightly cellulite.

Avoid the sun. A little sun is good for you. It provides vitamin D and can help give you a sunny disposition, but too much sun can do terrible damage. Try to use hats, clothes, or sun block to protect yourself from damaging UV rays.

Use certified natural skin products. Traditional beauty products contain all sorts of unnatural chemicals. Most are there as preservatives, or to give the product a certain scent, color or texture. These chemicals not only have no value to your skin, some may cause cancer and other dangerous problems. That?s why it?s beneficial to use natural products if you want to look your best and stay healthy. Just be sure to check labels, many products will claim they?re natural or organic and only contain one natural or organic ingredient. Be wary of ingredients you can?t pronounce and look for certification seals to be sure you?re getting what you pay for. Not only will these help normal skin, they?re also less likely to irritate sensitive skin.

With a little time, patience, and work, you can have fabulous looking skin with an all natural touch.
